 ituated on the road from Masloc to Bogda, Altringen is a peaceful hamlet equidistant from Arad and Timisoara. Rolling countryside, rich meadows and forests full of wildlife await the visitor.
 wo hundred years ago, the hills were an all-Schwab area, as the demographics reflected, Count Clary und Altringen's edict, ordering in 1771 the establishment of German colonists in the area.
 fter the turn of the twentieth century, Germans accounted for nearly 90% of the inhabitants but this decreased sharply after the second world war. As the Schwab population was replaced mostly by Romanians, the village of Altringen was closer to being a holiday village for people from the neighbouring cities.
